RDConnects@Home Student Engagement Expectations for Grades K-8
Students should be ready for the school day, every day. This means they are:
Dressed for a school day
Seated at an appropriate learning space (not lying in a bed, for example)
Demonstrating engagement in all classes
Ensuring they have all of their materials ready before the start of each class
Students should be present and free of distraction to the extent possible. This means they should:
Not have access to phones, video games, pets, or toys
Join the class meeting on time and stay until the teacher dismisses class
Not eat during class (except during Morning Meeting); they should use breaks and lunch to eat
Additional Student Engagement Expectations for Middle School Students
Middle School students must:
Complete all assigned work and submit by the due date. If they cannot submit work on time, students should email their teacher or specialist before the due date to explain.
Regularly check their Redwood Day email for communication from their teachers and Redwood Day staff
