TRADITIONAL DAY CAMPS Our traditional day camps are designed to allow campers to experience a variety of different activities throughout a given week. We focus on finding ways to keep campers learning over the summer in fun and engaging ways while also allowing for time to play and grow! Each week, campers learn and participate in activities designed around a specific theme led by our camp team.

SPECIALTY ENRICHMENT CAMPS We offer smaller group specialty camps on a weekly basis. Our specialty camps for rising K-8 campers focus on specific enrichment activities and offer a lower camper-to-counselor ratio than most other programs in order to provide more individual support to our campers.

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION CAMPS We offer 3 weeks of summer camp for our campers who are not yet enrolled in Kindergarten. Campers must be at least 4 years old by the first day of camp and fully potty-trained. Our early childhood program provides opportunities for campers to learn, play, and grow into great in a safe and supportive environment.

CONNECTION CAMPS This is our newest summer offering! Connection camps are designed to integrate two academic subjects into one unique learning experience. This allows students to understand the science and math behind physical activity and the impact on our bodies, or add aspects of engineering and mathematics to creative arts expressions.

ACADEMIC SUPPORT CAMPS
We provide individual camps by grade level for rising 1st-grade through 8th-grade students. Our academic boot camps are designed to help campers combat summer learning loss by engaging in activities that spark academic curiosity and inspire learning in a fun camp environment. These programs are designed to help exercise the muscle that is the brain in preparation for returning to school in the fall.

Keep Growing This Summer

Summer provides a unique opportunity for students to continue to learn in non-traditional ways. Our summer programs at Redwood Day provide project-based learning opportunities based in specific subject areas to keep your students engaged and help them continue to learn and grow. Most campers don’t realize they are learning because our camps are also fun!

Our camp guide is designed to help families determine which camps might be a good fit for their camper, based on their interests and schedule. If you have any questions about our program, please reach out to our camp team at summer@rdschool.org or call us at 510.213.8436.

Frequently Asked Questions

List of 7 items.

  • What does a day of camp look like?

All of our camps are full-day offerings. We accept students as early as 8:30 a.m., and pickup occurs between 3:00 and 3:30 p.m. For any families in need, after-camp care is available until 5:30 p.m. at an additional fee. Families must register for our after-camp care packages in advance. We also understand that summer schedules can be more fluid, and early pickups and later drop-offs are perfectly acceptable.

We find a way to celebrate each week of camp with an activity, assembly, or celebration for every camper. This is typically based on the theme of our traditional day camp, but all campers are invited to participate from every camp. Students will spend the majority of their day learning through play, with plenty of time to socialize and relax. For any confirmed community partners who will be joining us during the summer, they are listed in orange at the top of each week.
  • When does registration begin?

Registration opens for all families on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.
  • What is your cancellation policy?

For more information on our cancellation policy, please refer to our Camp Terms & Conditions below. All summer camps are fully refundable up to 60 days prior to the start of camp. After that time, only a 50% refund will be given for cancellations made between 30 and 60 days prior to the first day of camp. Any cancellations within 30 days of the first day of camp will not be eligible for any refund.

If any specific discounts are available, please review the terms and conditions of each discount to ensure that our cancellation policy applies to any registrations using these discounted rates.
  • What if my camper wants to be in the same group as their friend?

We understand the importance of having a familiar face in a camper's camp group. If you are signing up for camp with a friend, please list their information in your registration form, and we will do our best to accommodate all requests. If campers are in different grade levels, it may not be developmentally appropriate for other campers to make these accommodations to our rosters.
  • Who leads our summer camps?

Our camps are led by a mix of Redwood Day faculty and staff, along with the support of seasonal summer staff members. Our summer counselor-to-camper ratio is intentionally low to provide additional support and care to our campers.
  • Is Financial Assistance available?

Our goal is to provide equitable summer opportunities to our entire community. All students who attend Redwood Day are eligible to receive financial assistance at their discounted tuition rate for all summer camps. There are also payment plans available for families who prefer to make payments throughout the summer towards their camp fees, as well as other unique discount options. If you still require additional financial assistance, please contact our camp team.
  • Who do I contact with other questions?

Please email us directly at summer@rdschool.org. We would love to hear from you and address any questions you might have.
