Setting Up a Workspace for RDConnects@Home

We strongly suggest that students have designated Learning Spaces in their homes. A designated learning space is a quiet, dedicated area set up for learning free of distractions to the best extent possible.

Learning Spaces Needs:
  • Flat surface – desk or table
  • Comfortable chair
  • Headphones
  • Outlet for a laptop/Chromebook charger
  • Enough space for a laptop and the ability to write using a pen/pencil
  • Storage for general class materials (see below)
  • Free of distractions – both visual and auditory
    • Not in front of a window
    • Away from siblings or parents on Zoom calls (if/when possible)

General Class Materials:
  • Pens, pencils, erasers, pencil sharpener
  • Colored pencils, crayons
  • Paper (lined and blank)
  • Scissors
  • Additional supplies provided by Redwood Day
  • Planner for Middle School students
