  • Step 4: Assessments and Testing

January and February 2023 – We are currently finalizing assessments for 2023-2024 applicants. We will be in touch with you to schedule an assessment once your application is received.

    ASSESSMENTS
Our assessments allow the Admissions Committee and additional faculty to get to know your child from both a social-emotional and academic perspective. An assessment is just one way we learn how a child will connect with, benefit from, and add to the learning community at Redwood Day.

Kindergarten and 1st Grade assessments are designed to determine the developmental readiness of a child for our program. Assessments for 2nd-8th Grade applicants typically involve activities, interviews, and academic work packets that include reading, writing, math, and spelling components. Redwood Day is currently developing our assessment process and more information will be available to families once this is finalized. Assessments are available to applicants only.

SSAT CHARACTER SKILLS SNAPSHOT AND ISEE
Redwood Day will not be accepting Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE) results for 6th-8th grade applications for the 2022-2023 school year. We require that applicants for 6th-8th grade complete and submit the SSAT Character Skills Snapshot by February 2, 2023, by 8:00 p.m. The Character Skills Snapshot is an online survey administered by the SSAT that measures a student's preferences, attitudes, and beliefs about their own character, including intellectual, intrapersonal, and interpersonal skills.

To register for the Character Skills Snapshot, or to read the FAQ Sheet, please visit ssat.org. Please note that you will not be able to select Redwood Day as a recipient of the Snapshot until after you receive your Snapshot Results. Click HERE for directions.
