    Blacktop
School-wide assemblies provide an incredible opportunity for our K-8 community to gather to educate, celebrate and entertain. Performances may include class presentations, solo and group performances by faculty, staff, and students, as well as professional performances. Performing students are embodying healthy risk-taking and the community actively supports these endeavors. Every assembly closes with honoring, a time in which individuals recognize members of the community who have made a (small or big) difference in their lives. For more information, please contact Denise Breland, Director of Student Life at dbreland@rdschool.org.

    Redwood Day
SEED (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) Redwood Day is one of a growing number of schools across the globe participating in the 35 year old SEED Project, founded by Peggy McIntosh, at the Wellesley Centers for Women. SEED participants seek to examine our own lives/backgrounds and to learn about others in order to create a community where all members are supported and valued. Participants engage in activities, readings, and films that focus on diversity and connection. Learning more about ourselves and listening to each other helps create and support a more balanced, equitable, inclusive and understanding community. SEED is open to all Redwood Day and Park Day faculty/staff and is co-facilitated by Jodi Freedman and Jules Greene. For more information, please contact Meredith Spencer, Director of Equity and Inclusion.

  • White Anti-Racist Guardians (WARG) Meeting

    Zoom

Please join us for the first meeting of the school year for White, Anti-Racist Guardians (WARG). We’re going to explore a bit about the spectrum of anti-racism, where we feel we are on our path, and ways that we can bring our kids along with us on our journey. Parents/guardians who can only join us for part of this are welcome - the struggle to get our kids into bed is real! This parent/guardian group is modeled after our White, Anti-Racist Educators (WARE) group for faculty/staff. WARG is for white-identifying adults committed to fighting for racial and social justice. Registration information will be included in the Redwood Day Weekly. Please contact lead facilitators, Jo Ilfeld and Diana Pasquali or Meredith Spencer, Director of Equity and Inclusion with questions.
