Where Curiosity Grows, and Stories Come to Life.
The Redwood Day Library is a vibrant hub for exploration, connection, and learning. Students discover diverse perspectives, pursue their interests, and experience the joy of reading, all while participating in engaging classes and creative programs that nurture a love of stories and knowledge.
Students build knowledge through inquiry, collaboration, and creativity while developing research and digital citizenship skills. Library classes, integrated into both lower and middle school schedules, foster curiosity, independence, and a love of learning.
The Redwood Day Library hosts various events celebrating reading and bringing the community together. The annual week-long Book Fair, a cherished Parent Guardian Association event, is a highlight for students and families alike. The bookmark design contest encourages artistic expression, while Recess Parties offer fun, hands-on activities like arts and crafts during lunch.

The Library Collection
The Lower School library program and space invite students to explore ideas and interests, gather and enjoy individual and communal activities, engage in inquiry and research that supports the curriculum, and experience the joy of reading. Lower School students attend library classes once every eight-day cycle where they are exposed to rich, diverse texts, have the opportunity to explore and select books, and learn the fundamentals of information literacy as part of a developmental continuum.
Our library collection encourages curiosity and imagination, sparking inspiration and wonder. As part of our mission and commitment to DEIB, students see themselves reflected in texts and have opportunities to look beyond themselves through a diverse, relevant collection.
Redwood Day subscribes to a robust selection of digital resources and databases to support students’ informational research needs. We invite you to explore the Redwood Day Library Catalog and digital book collection, SORA, by clicking on the icons below.

Library Events
Each year at the Book Fair, the Parent Guardian Association and a chosen library partner provide an exciting opportunity for students to be exposed to new titles and celebrate the magic of books and reading. Students participate in a reading challenge and a bookmark design contest leading up to the fair, a long-standing tradition that promotes creativity and a love of reading. Middle School participates in the BookBeat, an event that features student music and spoken word performances.
The Library also holds monthly Recess Parties to cultivate the students’ creativity. During each grade level’s lunch recess, students are invited to come into the Library to do an arts and crafts project created by the Library.
“I THINK THE LIBRARY IS AWESOME BECAUSE IT HAS A GREAT SELECTION OF BOOKS AND A DRAWING CORNER.”
