The Learning Services program at Redwood Day recognizes that students have diverse learning profiles. The Learning Specialists partner with students, teachers, and families to support learners’ growth and development.
In our school-wide learning support model, our Learning Services approach provides differentiated and coordinated strength-based support to students, families, and teachers in order to nurture and sustain optimal growth and progress in learning. Fostering strong partnerships with families through ongoing communication, collaboration, and parent/guardian education is foundational to Learning Services at Redwood Day. In coordination with faculty, Learning Services also facilitates students’ development of strategies over time that allow them to demonstrate independence and agency in the learning process.
In the Middle School, students with documented learning plans receive support through accommodations and differentiation strategies specific to needs across the program as well as 1-1 support with our Middle School Learning Specialist. Our Middle School Learning Specialist partners closely with teachers to support differentiation in instruction and curriculum development through collaborative meetings and class visits.
