Redwood Day allows students to explore talents and interests outside the school curriculum. Instructors are dedicated educators from within the school community and the greater Bay Area.
ENROLLMENT
Everyone must register online through UltraCamp. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollments are not met. If a class does not meet its minimum enrollment and is canceled, families will be notified and reimbursed for the class.
CHANGES/CANCELLATIONS
In order to provide some flexibility in our programs, all classes may be canceled after the first week with a full refund. Unfortunately, after our second class, we will not be able to provide any refunds for classes. Please note that there will be a cancellation fee of 3% charged for all refunds. This fee is meant to cover the related credit card charges that are charged to the School for the initial payment processing
BILLING
Students attending enrichment classes must sign in to X-Care at dismissal. In order to sign up for our enrichment offerings at the rate listed, you need to be enrolled in our X-Care or X-Plus program. Students enrolled in the hourly X-Care/X-Plus time will be billed for any time spent in X-Care before or after their enrichment class but not during class time. If you are not enrolled in X-Care or X-Plus you may not be able to enroll when classes are available in UltraCamp.
If you are looking to utilize your discounted tuition rate for our after-school program registration, enter your student’s information in the format of First InitialLast Name for the discount code [e.g., John Smith would be JSmith]. There are no spaces or hyphens in your discount code.

No classes will be held on conference days, in-service days, school holidays, or school vacations, and all class dates are listed in the registration information for each course.

Adventures in Discovery (K)Provider: Bay Area Discovery Museum Due to schedule conflicts, this class will begin on 9/28 Supported by research on early STEM learning, this program invites early learners to unleash their curiosity through play-based, sensory-rich explorations. Each week, students will practice foundational STEM skills by asking questions, making observations and predictions, and experimenting with tools. Facilitated by experienced museum educators, students will strengthen their understanding of the world around them, investigating phenomena such as light and shadow, magnets, solubility, and more. Pickleball (1st & 2nd)Provider: Higgins Tennis Learn Pickleball, the fastest-growing sport in America, with Higgins Tennis. Pickleball is easy to pick up and play right away! They provide the paddle and balls and set up a full-size Pickleball court right on the hard top. Children learn all the stroke fundamentals, including forehands, backhands, serves, and the basics of rallying and scoring. Children then incorporate what they have learned into gameplay, which encourages good sportsmanship and teamwork and develops their self-esteem. Creative CreaturesProvider: August Feinstein-Hillsman In Creative Creatures, students explore the amazing world of animals through art, building, and hands-on creativity! Each class introduces a new animal from somewhere around the world. We’ll learn fun facts about how it lives, what it eats, and what makes it unique. After discovering our featured creature, students will create a project inspired by it. Using a variety of materials like paper, clay, recycled supplies, paint, and simple building tools. Students will design, build, and decorate their own animal-inspired creations. Projects may include sculptures, habitats, moving models, masks, and imaginative art pieces. This class encourages curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving while helping students connect with the natural world. By the end of the session, students will have learned about many fascinating animals and built a collection of unique projects to take home. Perfect for young makers who love animals, building, and getting creative! Beginner ChessProvider: Berkeley Chess School Immerse yourself in the exciting world of chess! Mighty MakersProvider: Emily Hedges Due to scheduling conflicts, this class will begin on September 24th Ms. Emily will be leading this class designed to build finger strength and coordination through a variety of activities and projects. Each week, Kindergarteners will strengthen their fine motor skills through play; molding clay, cutting patterns, pulling and twisting materials, and tackling collaborative group activities that turn big movements into tiny hand power, and building fine motor skills. Cooking Round the USAProvider: Each class students visit a different US state, learn where that state is on the map, and about what makes that state unique. The kids cook and eat delicious foods associated with that state (i.e., Peach French Toast with Maple Whipped Cream from Alabama; Delaware Veggie Hoagie and carrot salad; Gruyere, Apple and Onion Frittata from Washington). Kids learn cooking skills, broaden their taste buds and have a ball! Recipes are nut and meat-free. Recipe booklet and photos emailed at the end of the classes!
