Automated Wax Museum

Today, our 8th-grade students performed monologues in front of our school community. These monologues were based on a character from a novel they chose. The students are charged with reading their chosen novel, identifying a character within that novel, and writing a monologue from that character’s perspective. Once the monologue is written, students must bring their characters to life. They rehearse body language, tone, and, of course, memorizing their lines. On the day of the Automated Wax Museum, the entire school community, visits the various characters, activating each one in a unique manner (one character might have a sign reading “To activate me, hand me my glasses.”
