Student Spotlight

Hi. I'm Lila Mathus, an 8th grader at Redwood Day. Last year, for our end-of-year history project, we each wrote an IRP (Independent research paper), a 3 to 5-page essay about a chosen history topic. I chose to write about the history of Anti-Asian hate, a topic that is both recent and personal. Early at the start of summer, Ms. Madelo contacted me with a request to help me get it published, and now, several emails, edits, and months later, my revised and shortened version has been published in the Asian American Psychology Association's monthly newspaper.
