Pacific Islander Heritage Assembly

During this morning's all-school assembly, our very own Scott "Momo" Maumalanga and several of his family members taught the students about Pacific Islander culture, traditions, and history. The assembly began with the playing of the National Anthem of Tonga, followed by an overview of the history of the Pacific Island and the various cultures that derive from there. The students were taught several dances and even learned to count to 5! The assembly ended with a powerful spoken word performance from Momo, which left some in tears and everyone standing and applauding!
