TRADITIONAL DAY CAMPS

Our traditional day camps are designed to allow campers to experience a variety of different activities throughout a given week. We focus on finding ways to keep campers learning over the summer in fun and engaging ways while also allowing for time to play and grow! Each week, campers learn and participate in activities designed around a specific theme led by our camp team.

SPECIALTY CAMPS

We also offer smaller group specialty camps on a weekly basis. We have specialty camps for K-8 that focus on specific enrichment activities. There will be activities that have more of an academic focus or allow for more hands-on learning opportunities.

Frequently Asked Questions

List of 8 items.

  • What does a day of camp look like?

All of our camps are full-day offerings. We accept students as early as 8:30 am and pickup occurs between 3:00-3:30 p.m. For any families in need, after-camp care is available from 3:30-5:30 pm at an additional fee. Families must register for this after-camp care package in advance. We also understand that schedules over the summer can be more fluid. Early pickups and later drop-offs are perfectly acceptable, and campers won’t miss a thing.

Each week, we find a way to celebrate the conclusion of another camp experience with an activity, assembly, or celebration for every camper. This is typically based on the theme of our traditional day camp but all campers are invited to participate from every camp. Students will spend the majority of their day learning through play, with plenty of time to socialize and relax.
  • When does registration begin?

Registration opens for families whose students attend Redwood Day on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. On Wednesday, January 17, at 7:00 p.m., registration will open to all other members of our larger community.
  • What is your cancellation policy?

More information on our cancellation policy can be found in our Camp Terms & Conditions below. All summer camps are fully refundable up to 60 days prior to the start of camp.
  • What if my camper wants to be in the same group as their friend?

We know how important it is for campers to have a familiar face in their camp group.  If you are signing up for camp with a friend, please list their information in your registration form, and we will do our best to accommodate all requests.
  • What sort of activities can our students look forward to at camp?

Each week of camp is something unique. We know that everyone has a busy summer schedule, and we plan to celebrate the end of a week of camp each Friday with a unique camp-wide offering for our entire summer camp. This may be a visit from a special guest, fun camp-wide activities that remind you of summer, or a camp-wide performance to share with other campers.

Campers in our traditional day camps will be engaged in movement, games, arts and crafts, and a wide range of engaging activities. While campers in our specialty camps will have a much more specific focus that will allow them to dive deeper into unique subjects.
  • Who leads our summer camps?

Our camps are led by a mix of Redwood Day Faculty & Staff, along with the support of seasonal summer staff members. Our summer counselor-to-camper ratio is intentionally low to provide additional support and care to our campers.
  • Is Financial Assistance available?

Our goal is to provide equitable summer opportunities to our entire community. All students who attend Redwood Day are eligible to receive financial assistance at their discounted tuition rate for all summer camps.
