Research Databases

A research database is an organized body of related information that a researcher accesses on the computer. Information is collected from the web, books and reference materials, newspapers, magazines, videos, and more to be stored in a central location that is searchable by keywords. Information is organized so that the researcher can quickly and easily, search and find what they are looking for.

Why use a research database?

  • to streamline and focus search results
  • to find relevant information quickly and efficiently from a variety of sources
  • to filters out the junk that comes along with a Google search or broad Web search, providing the researcher with pertinent and appropriate sources

Simply put, databases make it much easier to do research on the Internet!
