The kinds of seeds grown will depend on: where you live (west coast, east coast, inland, or coastal), the season, and how well the seedlings handle being transplanted.
We work with community garden coordinators, schools, neighborhood associations, and anyone else who might want seedlings to start a garden!
Contact Growing Up G.R.E.E.N. by email. Let us know your name, the name of your organization, and any contact information you can (phone number and email).
We begin growing seedlings at the beginning of each school year at RDS and keep on planting and donating throughout the school year. We usually have several hundred seedlings growing at a time. We like to be able to share with as many people as possible. We hope to be able to supply 48 seedlings or more at a time.
Growing Up G.R.E.E.N. is not a club. It’s people who are starting seeds to share as seedlings and helping others to learn to do the same. It is a seed for a seed sharing program.
Anyone, anywhere can join in Growing Up G.R.E.E.N. simply by learning to plant their excess seeds to share with others. The trick is planting the right seeds for the season and planting ones that can be successfully transplanted.
