student accounts

A student account lets your child make purchases at the Book Fair without bringing money to school. You decide how much money to put in your child’s student account.

How to Set Up a Student Account
If you decide to set up a student account for your child, complete a Student Account form (pdf) and write a check to the RDSPA for the amount of the account. The information will be available at the Book Fair cashier’s desk, and when your child makes a purchase from the student account the cashier will deduct the amount of the purchase from the student’s account. If you like, you can limit your child’s purchases to “books only.”  If you choose this option your child can’t use the student account to buy items such as software, craft kits, posters, or writing materials.

How Your Child Uses the Account
Let your child know you’ve set up a sudent account, the amount that’s available, and whether you’ve made it “books only.” When a student comes to the cashier’s desk and asks, the cashiers can determine whether the student has an account, and if so how much is available to spend.

What Happens with Leftover Student Account Money
If money remains in a student account at the end of the Book Fair, the extra amount will be donated to the library.
