parents' association

The Redwood Day School Parents' Association (RDSPA) is a parent-run organization that:

  • Builds and sustains positive and productive relationships within the Association and with the greater School community ;
  • Cultivates a sense of ownership among parents by maintaining a diverse board and an active membership which is reflective of the community; and

  • Organizes and governs in a manner that facilitates healthy intereactions and outcomes.

Please see our Mission, Vision, and Values Statements. (PDF)

Every Redwood Day School parent is a member of the Parents’ Association and is encouraged to participate.

The Parents’ Association committees include one-time and ongoing opportunities; there are volunteer positions for parents available during the school day, some for parents who cannot be available during the day, positions that take a lot of time and commitment, and positions that take less time and commitment.

To participate, please contact:

  • Leah Hoskin, Lower School Parent Participation Coordinator, or

  • Jill Nesbitt, Middle School Parent Participation Coordinator

The association, governed by the Parents’ Association Board, coordinates and staffs committees that coordinate fundraising and volunteerism for the school. Each committee has a chair and co-chair and is staffed by volunteers who make it work. Room parents coordinate support for classroom or grade-level activities.
