We arrange many opportunities for you to meet our administration and faculty, observe our academic program, and visit our beautiful Oakland campus. It is our goal to provide you with as much information as you need to be able to find the right school match for your child. We welcome you to attend multiple events and we are always happy to answer your questions.
Visiting Redwood Day School
We hope that you begin your to learn about Redwood Day School through this web site. We look forward to meeting your in person at an Open House and Parent-led Tour.
We require all prospective families to visit the school. We strongly encourage attendance at an Open House. Open Houses do not require RSVPs. Prospective Middle School students are welcome at the Saturday open houses; otherwise prospective parent admission events are intended for adults only. We are not able to provide childcare at this time. Student visits to grades 4-8 may be arranged by appointment after an application is submitted.
Parent Tours are strongly recommended, though not required. Please call the admission office to schedule a tour.
Our Weekday Open House begins with a welcome and introduction from Mike Riera, our Head of School. Middle School students will then lead you on a guided campus tour. After the tour, there are presentations and a Q & A with our Program Directors Warren Sepkowitz and Denise Breland. If your schedule allows, we invite you to stay for our 10:50 a.m. all-school assembly that follows the Open House.
Our Saturday Open House will provide you with insight on classes at Redwood Day School. We begin the event with a welcome and introduction from Mike Riera, our Head of School. Following the welcome, our faculty will lead you in sample lessons where you will experience their passion and expertise first-hand. We will wrap up the open house with a Q & A presentation with our Program Directors Warren Sepkowitz and Denise Breland.

Parent-led Tour Schedule

Tours are led by current RDS parents. Tours offer an intimate view of the campus and classrooms and are an excellent complement to the big picture presented at our Open House events. Reservations are required since we arrange tours to include 4-8 prospective parents per tour guide.
