We are proud of our strong academic program, the way in which we work with the whole child, and our desire to help students and their families create effective and invigorating journeys through these primary and teenage years.
Our curriculum focuses on the whole child, and asks that the entire community recognize that we are intellectual, social, and emotional beings striving for a balance. With enthusiastic teachers, challenging academics, an inviting campus, and an awareness of the outside world, we engage, prepare and inspire each other to be the best we can be.
The Admission Committee looks for students and families who will flourish at Redwood Day School, who are academically prepared for the desired grade, and who will contribute to the variety and balance of each class in the Redwood Day School community. The school seeks a diverse student body; we welcome families of all backgrounds and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation or national or ethnic origin.
Admission is based on a written application, previous school records, assessments administered at Redwood Day School, teacher recommendations and, for Middle School applicants, the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE) results. The application process begins each fall for the following school year for all grade levels. Candidates are urged to apply early though all on-time applications will be considered together. Decisions are made in early March. After that time, a second round of applications will be considered if spaces open up in late spring or summer.
We invite you to learn more about RDS through our many events this year, including School Day and Saturday Open Houses, Parent Led Tours, and Neighborhood Receptions.
