We are committed to serving our school and local community. Throughout the year we engage in a number of programs and projects designed to help us connect and respond to the needs of our communities.
Lower School
Our Lower School students participate in a wide variety of Community Service and Service Learning projects. Our students have made holiday cards for the Oakland Children’s Hospital, provided clean-up for local beaches and creeks, created and implemented read-a-thons to help raise funds for AIDS organizations, raised money for a school in Uganda, packed emergency baskets for Harbor House and sponsored penny drives to fill a wish list from a local family service agency.
Middle School
Community Service takes two forms in the Middle School: service learning throughout the classrooms and direct service or service days through the community service program. Throughout the year our students may find themselves cleaning up our local creek (Sausal Creek), and collecting books, artwork and products to be given to persons in need. You may also see them delivering goodie baskets to neighbors, reading to their buddies at a local elementary school, or serving lunch at St. Vincent De Paul.
