We accomplish even deeper levels of engagement and understanding by studying multiple disciplines through project-based curriculum. For example, fourth graders will grind their own acorns into flour and then bake bread, incorporating California history, math and science into one vivid lesson. Our talented specialists integrate art, dance, drama, cooking, gardening, music, movement, physical education, Spanish and technology into the curriculum, which broadens learning even further. Everyone—students, parents and teachers—is invested in the success of each child.
Learning is alive at RDS. It is a contagious feeling...one in which many people want to be involved. We teach students the language skills necessary to help them articulate their academic strengths and to recognize their weaknesses. A range of teaching strategies that accommodate students’ best interests are always at the heart of lesson design. As children matriculate through the grades, an awareness of who they are as learners, and as people, begins to unfold.
